FLAWS IN PAKISTANI EDUCATION SYSTEM

Education plays a very crucial role for the people and as well as for the society. Every society should take essential steps to overcome the issues and flaws of the education system. Pakistan is suffering from gender discrimination, inequality, terrorism, political instability, economic crises, poverty, insecurity etc. and all these complications are due to lack of awareness, tolerance and illiteracy which is developed by the ineffective education system. In Pakistan, there are a number of deficiencies in the education system which should be eradicated by paying enormous attention.

1- Teachers act as a catalyst in boosting up a nation but in Pakistan, the element of favouritism is on the peak which is the major barrier to the promotion of the education among individuals. In a classroom, there are three categories of students. Firstly brilliant students, secondly the average ones and thirdly the below average students. So, the obligation of a good teacher is to pay attention to all students equally because if he/she will only concentrate on brilliant apprentices, the others might lose their confidence and may indulge in inferiority complex. Inferiority complex hinders the critical and judgmental thinking, creative mindsets, cognitive abilities and capabilities etc. Extra time and attention should be given to below average pupils. So that, they will become creative and sharp thinkers. Secondly, the attitude of a teacher should be moderate. It should neither be very strict nor very lenient. So, that the learners neither get bored or distracted nor they cross their limits. 

2- Rote memorization is the second major obstacle in the education system which blocks the flow of cognition. Teachers in various institutions encourage their students to cram their notes and books which is in-vane for their future. They should teach in such a way that they can understand well and rephrase it by themselves. Furthermore, they can teach the learners in a storytelling style which is the best strategy for long-term memorization.

3- Language barrier is another vital issue which raises serious problems in the education system of Pakistan. Most of the learners of the primary section are unaware of English language which is being taught in schools and there is no English speaking environment in our country. So, they move towards rote learning. There should be a quality education in every institution of Pakistan. The teachers should be trained in "how to teach effectively". Firstly, the students should be taught in their local language and secondly, the delivered lecture should be translated into English. So that, the learners can understand easily.

4- Lack of facilities in public sector environment which is the main drawback in the education system. The budget in government level is always very low and due to this particular issue, many institutions lack toilets/washroom and potable drinking waters in schools. Moreover, lack of libraries and computer facilities are also a debatable concern in various educational organizations. The government should take serious notice of these peculiar aspects. It should pass handsome budget packages to miscellaneous educational organizations. So that, they can transmit quality and standardized education to the upcoming generation.

5- Shortage of primary teachers are drastically worsening the system. Autocratic rules are implemented in the diversity of schools which always weakens the system and teachers may leave the institution in order to find the best place having handsome salaries and low burden. There should be the democratic rule in private sector environment. So that, the teachers can perform their obligations and responsibilities according to their mindset and at the end, the work should be evaluated by the higher authorities of the organization in order to overcome deficiencies. Incentives should be given to the teachers on their best teaching performances and they can give their best to the institution and apprentices.
